What is VOIP?

VOIP is an acronym for Voice Over Internet Protocol. It is a commonly used technology that allows phone communication over the internet, as a replacement to traditional copper wire phonelines. Why would you use VOIP?

VOIP is easier and cheaper to deploy than old style phonelines. It requires more specialised hardware, but once deployed it runs just as well as a normal phone as long as you have internet access.
